Archeopark Pavlov

Pavlov, Jihomoravský kraj

Set into a slope of the Pavlov Hills on an Upper Palaeolithic site, this archaeological museum is about the Gravettian mammoth hunters who lived here some 30,000 years ago. The building lies underground, with only white skylights rising above the surface to echo the pale limestone crags of Pálava. Displays include stone and bone tools, ritual objects such as Venus figurines and animal carvings, a replica of the Dolní Věstonice triple burial, and a section of mammoth bones left exposed where they were found.
