Alamannenmuseum Ellwangen
Ellwangen, Baden-Württemberg
Five hundred years of Alamannic life in the early Middle Ages are laid out here, with finds from across southern Germany. The core of the collection comes from the burial ground near Lauchheim, the largest Alamannic cemetery in Baden-Württemberg. The museum occupies the Nikolauspflege of 1593, one of the oldest surviving almshouses and infirmaries in south-west Germany, together with its chapel.
