Riesengebirgsmuseum

This museum tells of flight, expulsion and a fresh start: in autumn 1946 three transports carrying 1,800 people from the Giant Mountains arrived in Marktoberdorf. The mountain spirit Rübezahl, who has a fountain in the town park on the Buchel, features too. It describes itself as the only Giant Mountains museum in Germany and has been open since 1960.
