Kunsthalle Messmer

Beer was once brewed here; now the old Riegel brewery houses art. Around 900 square metres of galleries show twentieth- and twenty-first-century work, in up to three changing exhibitions a year drawn from the museum's own holdings and loans from private and public collections. Outside, an 850-square-metre sculpture garden presents pieces by eight contemporary artists, among them Gerald Baschek, Hellmut Bruch and Michael Schwarze. The collection also includes a large part of the estate of the Swiss painter André Evard.
