Twelve vaults beneath the town hall tell how Rothenburg lived through the Thirty Years' War, above all its capture by Imperial troops in 1631. You will see a lansquenets' guardroom, weapons and war equipment, the city's defences and original flags of the Rothenburg troops. The Imperial Dungeon, thought to be the town's oldest prison, adds a guardhouse, a torture room and three cells.
