Heimat- und Burgmuseum

At the foot of Kirkel castle, this local museum spreads over three floors and tells the story of the village and its fortress. A fully furnished kitchen fills the ground floor, and under the roof is a bedroom with original pieces from around 1900. The small permanent exhibition follows the building history of the former imperial stronghold. The house is an exhibit too: an 18th-century stable house, typical of local smallholders.
