Deutsches Korbmuseum

Baskets, wickerwork and the story of a whole trade: this specialist museum in Michelau shows woven goods from around the world and traces how, along the upper Main, a winter side job grew into a guild craft with worldwide trade. One room is devoted to the fine Michelau weaving that was once sold across the globe. Basketry has been on Germany's national UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage since 2006.
