Regionální muzeum v Litomyšli

Litomyšl's regional museum occupies the old Baroque Piarist grammar school, built in 1714–1719 and extended in a modern addition by architect Josef Pleskot after a rebuild in 2012–2014. The permanent exhibition follows the history of the town. Writer Alois Jirásek once taught in the building, and it is the setting of his novella Filosofská historie. The museum also looks after the birth flat of composer Bedřich Smetana in the former castle brewery.
