Regionální muzeum K. A. Polánka v Žatci

This museum in Žatec explores the history and natural world of the Žatec and Podbořany area, placing them in a wider context. Its collections go back to 1896, when local tradesmen began gathering antiquities from the town and surroundings, especially archaeological finds. It is named after Karel Alois Polánek, a teacher and local historian active between the wars. The museum's own staff also carry out rescue archaeological digs across the region.
