Portikus

Contemporary art is the focus here, shown in changing exhibitions on the island in the Main beside the Alte Brücke. The programme features internationally known artists alongside younger voices. It began in 1987 in a container behind the columned portico of the old city library, which gave it its name, and it is closely tied to the Städelschule art academy.
