Muzeum Českého ráje v Turnově

This museum gathers what belongs to the Bohemian Paradise: archaeology, ethnology, minerals, history and art. It pays special attention to the local trade of cutting and working gemstones. The permanent exhibition includes Mikoláš Aleš's huge 1895 painting of the Saxons' defeat beneath Hrubá Skála, measuring 10 by 8.5 metres. The museum also runs the Dlask farmstead in nearby Dolánky, where woodcarvers meet each year in May or June for a symposium.
