Musikantenland-Museum

From about 1850 until the First World War, bands of musicians from the western Palatinate set off to play their way around the world. This museum in the tithe barn of Lichtenberg Castle tells their story through instruments that travelled with them, old sheet music, band photographs and souvenirs from foreign lands. Figure groups depict the daily life of the musicians and their families, a section covers the instrument makers, and you can listen to recordings of the music they played.
