Jura-Museum

High above the Altmühl valley in Willibaldsburg castle, this natural history museum shows fossils from the Jurassic quarries around Solnhofen. You will see marine reptiles, pterosaurs and a specimen of the early bird Archaeopteryx, as well as the well-preserved skeleton of the dinosaur Juravenator. An aquarium with tropical fish, corals and nautilus adds a living counterpart.
