Heimatmuseum (Grimmen)

Housed in Grimmen's old Mühlentor gate and an adjoining half-timbered house, this local history museum opens upstairs with a short survey of earth history, then moves on to the region's prehistory, including the Nehringen crouched burials and the great dolmens of the Poggendorf forest. The standout is Emausaurus, the only bird-hipped dinosaur whose remains have been found in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
