Erbach has been known as an ivory town since the late 18th century, and this museum in the palace tells that story. More than two thousand pieces show ivory carving from Europe, Africa, Asia and Greenland, from the Middle Ages to the present. A focus lies on the carvers of the Odenwald in the 19th and 20th centuries, the craft that shaped the town.
