Apothekenmuseum Hofgeismar

Housed in the Stone House of 1239, the town's oldest building after the church, this museum spans five floors and 350 years of pharmacy history. In the vaulted cellar stands a medieval alchemist's kitchen with laboratory equipment. You will also find distillation furnaces, coating pans, tincture presses, an ointment machine and a tablet press. The entrance, with its sandstone walls and beamed ceiling, sets the mood.
