Museum Humanum
Waldkirchen an der Thaya, Niederösterreich
This museum compares art motifs and world views across cultures. Peter Coreth, an anthropologist, has collected the pieces since the 1960s, and they are arranged not by region or period but by theme and ritual context. That makes the shared motifs and forms of different cultures easy to spot. The museum opened in 1997.
