Mendelssohn-Haus
Leipzig, Sachsen
Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy moved with his family into the piano nobile of this late Neoclassical house of 1844 and died here in 1847. It is his last surviving private home. You can see original furniture, autograph letters and scores, first editions and some of his watercolours. His study is where he wrote the oratorio Elijah, among other works.
