The town's local history museum fills the eastern hall of Hückeswagen Castle, which was fitted out as a Catholic church in 1683 and given tall, continuous windows. You enter through the thick-walled gate tower of late Romanesque and early Gothic date, where the castle chapel has returned to its old place on the upper floor. It is a chance to see local history inside a piece of the old fortress.
