On the second and third floors of the castle's palas in Burghausen hang 56 paintings, mostly late medieval altarpiece panels from the 15th and 16th centuries from southern Germany and neighbouring Austria. Large paintings on the history of the Bavarian dukes by Hans Werl and a few sculptures complete the display.
