The tall drum dome of this palace is visible from afar at the end of the main avenue in Sanssouci Park. Frederick the Great built it after the Seven Years' War to show off Prussian strength. Inside are festival halls, galleries, apartments, the king's own rooms, the Lower Princes' Quarters and, in the south wing, the Baroque palace theatre.
