Soltauer Salzmuseum
Soltau, Niedersachsen
People have used the salt spring near Soltau for some 5,000 years, and this museum tells that story, from the spring to the salt dome beneath. The spring gave the town its name. You learn how the salt served, in the Middle Ages, to preserve animal hides among other uses.
