Selb is the centre of the German porcelain industry, and this is the place to learn how porcelain is made. The Porzellanikon links several museums: one on industrial porcelain production, one on technical ceramics and the Rosenthal Museum, in the restored former Rosenthal factory. A second site in nearby Hohenberg an der Eger houses the German Porcelain Museum.
