Jahrtausendturm

This 60-metre wooden tower in Magdeburg's Elbauenpark was built for the 1999 garden show and leans on purpose. Its six floors, reached by an inner stairway or a spiral ramp on the outside, hold an exhibition on the development of science with plenty of hands-on experiments. A telescope lets you read the clock of Magdeburg Cathedral from afar, and a Foucault pendulum in the top shows the Earth turning.
