Fossilien- und Heimatmuseum Messel

Housed in Messel's old town hall, this museum takes you back to the Middle Eocene. Original finds from the Messel Pit form the core of the display, alongside reconstructions of the subtropical habitat of that time that work well for children too. A second section covers the village's history and the development of its local industry.
