Wald-Michelbach, Hessen
The half-timbered town hall of Wald-Michelbach, marked 1594, holds a look at the working life of the Überwald region. You will find a cooper's workshop, the workplaces of a saddler, shoemaker and tailor, displays on beekeeping and home slaughtering, and a section on mining for iron ore, manganese and barytes. The former council chamber covers forestry and wood, including a model charcoal kiln. The foyer has old boundary stones and a village classroom, and a room upstairs honours the writer Adam Karrillon.
