Sanitäts- und Lazarettmuseum Seifertshain

Opened in 2013, this museum in Seifertshain looks at military medicine around 1813, the time of the Battle of Leipzig. Visitors learn which weapons were used, what injuries they caused and how surgeons operated. It explains how medical services were organised in several states of the Napoleonic era and recalls the humanitarian help given by the local rural population.
