Fire and firefighting are the theme here, and visitors are invited to join in rather than just look. The museum in the middle of Hermeskeil is laid out as an interactive exhibition. Its story began with a 1950 Magirus-Deutz tanker that once served the town, was sold away, and was later brought back and restored by the local fire brigade.
