Ulm, Baden-Württemberg
A couple of collectors have gathered modern art since 1967, and Ulm shows part of it. The collection holds over 400 paintings and sculptures, including works by Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Willem de Kooning and Keith Haring. A particular focus is international colour field painting of the 1960s, with Mark Rothko, Ad Reinhardt, Frank Stella and Agnes Martin. The building went up in the city centre between 2005 and 2007.
