The centrepiece here is the last Siemens-Martin furnace preserved in Western Europe, standing on the grounds of the former steel and rolling mill. The museum traces how steel was made and processed in Brandenburg an der Havel. A separate exhibition covers Brennabor, the vehicle maker from the town. It is an anchor point of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.
