Museum der Brotkultur

Grain and bread as foundations of human culture are the subject of this museum in Ulm. It looks at the natural, technical and social history of bread-making, and at bread as a symbol of life in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Particular attention goes to hunger and food shortage, past and present. Artworks from the 15th to the 21st century show how deeply the theme of bread runs through our culture.
