Marktmuseum Altmannstein

The museum occupies a listed Hofer house with a striking stepped gable, its core dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It covers the natural setting and history of the region, and has an exhibition on the life and work of the composer Simon Mayr. The collection began with archaeological finds uncovered in 1940 during construction of the Manching airfield.
