Geopark Turold
Mikulov, Jihomoravský kraj
In a disused limestone quarry near Mikulov, beneath the Pálava hills, an open-air display brings together 17 kinds of rock from across the Czech Republic. The blocks are set in a horseshoe, running from igneous to sedimentary to metamorphic, and each has one polished face showing how the stone looks once worked. Information boards describe every rock. The park lies on the Turold educational trail, which leads from Mikulov to the Turold cave.
