Zillertaler Goldschaubergwerk

Above Zell am Ziller, a guided tour takes you into the old gold mine at Hainzenberg. A multimedia show inside the mountain covers 350 years of mining, from working conditions underground to the miners' lives and the political quarrels between Salzburg and Tyrol. The tour starts at the Hochzeller Käsealm and lasts about two hours, taking in historic sites and the tunnels. You ride back on the Zillertaler Goldexpress, with a dairy visit and a small tasting included.
