Stadtmuseum Heimathaus Traunstein

This local museum traces Traunstein's history from prehistory through the Middle Ages and early modern period to recent times. Its main sections cover the salt works, which operated until 1912, and crafts, trade and commerce. You also find paintings, sacred art, evidence of popular belief and custom, and the townsfolk and farming culture of the Chiemgau.
