Salzmuseum

This museum tells the almost thousand-year story of salt production in Bad Sooden-Allendorf, partly with original equipment from the saltworks that closed in 1906. It occupies the Söder Tor, once the only entrance to the saltworks, where checks guarded against salt smuggling and a prison was even housed.
