Norddeutsches Vogelmuseum - Sammlung Dr. Walther Baumeister

More than 400 mounted birds fill some 800 square metres here, showing the birdlife of northern Europe in natural-looking settings. The large dioramas by the artist Erich Böttcher are especially striking, combining painting and spatial design into convincing landscapes. The collection grew from the passion of amateur ornithologist Walther Baumeister and is still being renewed.
