Szczecinek's museum has deep roots: its first collection was shown in 1866, and it has been a permanent institution since 1914, now housed in the town's castle. You will find archaeological finds such as pottery, jewellery and tools, along with paintings and sculpture tied to the town and the surrounding region. Two specialities stand out: hunting gear, including firearms and keepsakes from hunting lodges, and gold and goldsmith work. Look out for Belbuk, a stone figure of a Slavic deity and one of the oldest pieces on display.
