Museum Georg Schäfer

German painting from the late eighteenth to the early twentieth century is the focus here, running from Rococo through Neoclassicism and Romanticism to Impressionism. The collection comes from the industrialist Georg Schäfer and includes the largest holding of Spitzweg's work anywhere. The award-winning modern building is itself a draw.
