Museum Abteiberg

Set on a steep south-facing slope right beside the Gladbach Minster, this museum shows modern and contemporary art. Hans Hollein's building of 1982 is regarded as a major work of postmodern architecture and is a reason to visit in itself, its rooms stepping down the hill like a small town quarter. The collection includes Expressionist works by artists such as Heckel, Kirchner and Campendonk.
