Mauermuseum

Escapes across the Berlin Wall are the heart of this private museum close to the former Checkpoint Charlie. It shows photos and documents of successful attempts to flee East Germany, along with the escape devices themselves: hot-air balloons, getaway cars, chairlifts and a mini submarine. The museum also researches deaths at the Wall and has been open since 1963.
