LWL-Museum Hellerlecht

Around 120 historic buildings from across Westphalia have been rebuilt here on roughly 90 hectares, including farmhouses, schools and windmills. This open-air museum shows everyday rural life you can touch and walk into. A particular focus is landscape and nature: old farm animal breeds such as the Lippe goose and the Bentheim sheep are kept, and Senner horses are bred. A visit is a long walk through grounds rather than a tour of galleries.
