Kunsthalle Mannheim

Modern and contemporary art fills this museum on Friedrichsplatz in Mannheim. The paintings run from Manet and Cézanne to Munch, Beckmann, Dix and Francis Bacon, and the sculpture of the 20th century is a particular strength, with works by Rodin, Lehmbruck and Henry Moore. Thousands of drawings, watercolours and prints complete the collection. The original building began as a pavilion for the 1907 exhibition, and the extension of 2018 shows a group of works by Anselm Kiefer.
