Freilichtmuseum Amerang

On the edge of Amerang in the Chiemgau, 16 rebuilt farmhouses and outbuildings from the Chiemgau and the Rupertiwinkel make up this open-air museum. They show how people between Lake Chiemsee, the Inn and the Salzach lived and worked over the centuries. A rope-maker's and a wheelwright's workshop give a look into old trades, and demonstrations show historical working techniques.
