Energiemuseum Rickenbach

Historic water power in the southern Black Forest is the theme here, halfway along the Murgtal trail near Hottingen. Outside, a runner wheel and various pumps show how water can be lifted without electricity or diesel. The highlight is the hydraulic ram, an invention over 200 years old, which drives a historic water wheel. Interactive panels and a 40-metre shaft explain pumped-storage power plants.
