DDR-Museum Pirna

Everyday life in East Germany is laid out here in full: a completely fitted-out Konsum shop, a kindergarten, a classroom and a hospital ward, alongside vehicles from the period and photographs by Hartmut Schorsch. The collection fills two floors of a former barracks of the East German army, and a small children's tram from Dresden, known as Lottchen, stands outside. Among the rarer pieces is a pacemaker from the 1960s.
